Dōjin Work (ドージンワーク, Dōjin Wāku) is a Japanese four-panel comic strip written and illustrated by Japanese manga author Hiroyuki. The story revolves around a young girl named Najimi Osana who is about to make her debut into the dōjin creation world with the help of her experienced friends. Aspects of what it is like to be a dōjin artist are common themes throughout the story. The manga was first serialized in the Japanese seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat on November 28, 2004, published by Houbunsha. Since then, the manga has also been serialized in two other magazines published by the same company named Manga Time Kirara and Manga Time Kirara Forward. An anime adaptation aired on the Chiba TV television network in Japan between July 4, 2007 and September 19, 2007.

Summary:

Najimi was always puzzled at what Tsuyuri does , so she decided to ask and see it for herself. She was schocked that Tsuyuri was doing doujinshies , and thought it was perverted. But that changed when she saw how much it made at the Comic Festival. Her greed for money made her start drawing doujinshies and now is struggling the everyday cliches , struggles , and problems on being an artist. Along the way , she meets Justice ( Her Childhood Friend) , Sora ( A little girl who Justice is attracted too) , Hoshi (A guy who has an intense crush at Najimi after meeting her) , and Nidou (Najimi's official rival at doujin making). Each chapter has a crazy storyline that will put you to laughs , and if it doesn't ......your not from this planet...are you?

Personal Insights:

Not much to say XD This Manga is for those tired of those action , romance , and serious type storyline mangas out there. This if for those who need laughs for a change , those who need laughs all the time , and for those who really need a laugh.

Synopsis:

In Spiral, Ayumu Narumi is a teenage boy who is accused of murdering Sayoko Shiratanagi. His sister-in-law is the one who is in control of the case, so she lets him go. Ayumu is determined to find the answer to the mystery, and, along with the head of the newspaper, Hiyono, figures it out. This sets off a series of events. He meets pianist Eyes Rutherford, Rio Takeuchi, Kosuke, Ryoko, and their so called leader, Kanone. For some reason, they all seem to know his older brother, Kiyotaka, and they think that he can save them. Just who are the "Blade Children".

Two years ago, the famous detective Narumi Kiyotaka disappeared, leaving behind only the words, "I am pursuing the mystery of the Blade Children." Now, his younger brother Ayumu is accused of murdering a fellow student, and begins to discover people with connections to the Blade Children all around him. The Blade Children were born cursed, and Ayumu may be the only key to saving them, but first they want to test him, by trying to kill him with everything they've got. All the while, it seems that Kiyotaka is manipulating events for his own unknown purposes.

An amazing Manga... I really enjoyed reading it... well actually "enjoy" considering its an ongoing series... here's a brief intro *wondering where all the other co-authors have goon off too :(( *

Intro

M×0 (エム×ゼロ, Emu x Zero?) is a Japanese comedy manga series by Japanese author Yasuhiro Kanō (author of Pretty Face), about a school that teaches students how to do magic and the crazy antics of a normal boy who was admitted under special circumstances. It was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump on May 1, 2006, published by Shueisha. The first volume of the series was released in Japan on November 2, 2006.

Story

M×0 centers around a young man named Taiga Kuzumi who has a hot-headed temper and is able to hold his own in a fight. During an interview to determine if he can attend Seinagi Private High School (私立聖凪高校, Shiritsu Seinagi Kōkō?) that he had plans of joining, Taiga is asked what he would do if he could use magic. "Take over the world" is his reply and it is quickly followed by an outburst of laughter from a very cute girl. Upon confronting the girl, she realizes how rude it was of her to laugh at his answer and tries to apologize, ultimately grasping his hands with tears in her eyes. After that point, he does not remember much else about the interview, but one thing he cannot change: he failed to enter the school. Blaming the girl for his failing to enter the school, he goes to Seinagi to confront her about it, when a teacher mistakes Taiga for a student ditching class and pulls him through some type of strange energy barrier that surrounds the school. Without realizing what has just happened, he has set foot on a school dedicated to teaching its students how to use magic, though the shock of his first encounter with it freaks him out so much that he tries to get away from the teacher as fast as he can, effectively convincing the latter that he is a suspicious person.

After a confrontation where he is hit with a rather odd spell, he is able to tie the teacher up and run away. Unfortunately, he gets into some more trouble with some upperclassman and during this time is surprised to have found the girl from the interview attending the school. His main priority is then changed from merely survival in a strange land to finding this girl and conveying his feelings of romantic attraction to her, which have most suddenly become clear to him.

Before long, however, he runs into the same teacher from before and has yet another fight with him. All the teacher wants to do is erase his memory of the school in order to keep the place a secret from the outside world, but Taiga still has to tell the girl how he feels. During the fight, despite not knowing any magic whatsoever, Taiga dodges the teacher's attacks and by some dumb luck subdues the teacher once again, completely incapacitating him. At this point, who should appear but the girl he's been searching for, who screams out to her father who was just beaten by Taiga. Angry at what he's done, the girl, whose name is Aika Hiiragi, uses her own magic and blows him away.
Later on, due to various circumstances surrounding strict rules of the school, Taiga is admitted into the school but with only one difference from all the other students: he can't use magic. He must now try to survive in a school of magic and try to fool the entire school that he's a powerful mage at the same time.

Case Closed a.k.a Detective Conan

Case Closed, also known as Detective Conan (名探偵コナン, Meitantei Konan) in Japan and other countries, is a detective manga and anime series by Gosho Aoyama which has been published in Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine since 1994.

The series depicts the cases of a young private detective who was inadvertently turned into a prepubescent boy by a certain criminal organization. Although his body has been shrunk, he continues to solve many cases and is struggling to solve the mysteries of the criminal organization responsible in order to return to his normal body.

The tenth movie, "Private Eyes' Requiem" was announced on December 15, 2005 and was released on April 15, 2006, debuting at the number one position in the Japanese box office and remained there for three consecutive weeks. As of May 28, 2006, it has earned $25.8 million in the Japanese box office.

The story starts by introducing 17-year old (16 years in the manga) high school student Jimmy Kudo (Shin'ichi Kudo) and his childhood friend and crush, Rachel Moore (Ran Mori). Jimmy treats Rachel to a trip to a theme park named "Tropical Land" and encounters a murder. After easily solving the case and showing off his detective skills, he notices two mysterious men wearing black. Telling Rachel to go on home, he tracked the men to a meeting place and witnesses an illegal deal. However, one of the men in black (known only as Gin) notices him and knocks him out. Instead of directly killing him, the two black men give him an untested poison named Apotoxin-4869 (APTX4869), which was supposed to not only kill Jimmy, but also leave no trace of poison in Jimmy's body. However, Jimmy wakes to find that he is still alive, but has now been shrunk to an elementary school boy, around six years old.
Following the advice of Dr. Herschel Agasa (Dr. Hiroshi Agasa), Jimmy hides his real identity, lest the men in black find out that he is alive. When Rachel asks for his name, Jimmy spots books by Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Rampo and comes up with the name "Conan Edogawa." Agasa says that "Conan" is a relative of his, but was too busy to take care of a young child, and suggests that "Conan" go live with Rachel, and both Conan and Rachel agree. Rachel's father, Richard Moore (Kogoro Mori) is an incapable detective. Conan always solves mysteries in his stead. As Conan appears to be just a boy, police don't pay any attention to him. Conan instead uses Detective Moore by putting him to sleep with a "anesthesia gun-watch" and pretending to be Moore by using a voice changer disguised as a bow tie. To maintain his cover, Conan goes to Titan elementary school (Japanese: Teitan Elementary School (帝丹小学校, Teitan Shōgakkō)) and has made friends with three children at the school, George Kaminski (Genta Kojima), Mitch Tennison (Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya) and Amy Yeager (Ayumi Yoshida) who form the self-styled "Junior Detective League" 少年探偵団 (Shōnen Taitei-dan, 少年探偵団) (Detective Boys in the Japanese anime and manga). Although Conan feels profoundly self conscious playing with them given his true age, the foursome have numerous adventures of their own and the trio have proved capable assistants to the detective for their age.
Jimmy was able to find out that Gin was working for a criminal organization, known as the Black Organization. In addition to Gin, other major members of the Black Organization that appears later in the story include his partner Vodka, Vermouth, Kir, Chianti, Korn, and a mysterious "boss" who has only been mentioned so far. Jimmy also meets the inventor of the APTX4869 and former member of the organization Shiho Miyano (codename "Sherry" within the black organization), who was also turned into a child after she took her own drug to escape the organization, and then lives with Dr. Agasa under her new name Ai Haibara.

Introduction and Plot

Black Lagoon (ブラックラグーン Burakku Raguun) is the name of a Japanese manga and an anime TV series created by Rei Hiroe. Black Lagoon premiered at the Tokyo International Anime Fair in March 2006 and began airing on 8 April 2006 in Japan, the series airing its final episode on 24 June that year. The second season (called Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage), started airing in Japan on the 2 October 2006 and ended on December 18, 2006. It has been licensed for release in North America by Geneon Entertainment with a release date of May 22, 2007.

Just irritated from having all those bad days at the office , Rokuro wishes that somehow he could escape that..without being fired of course. His company finishes some plans for a nuclear weapon to be delivered to the client but they are unsure of who to deliver it.They decided upon further brainstorming... pick a low employee to do the job and picked one person = Rokuro. Rokuro felt so glad about this...but little does he know that something bad will happen and it did. While traveling , having entrusted the plans ..he felt glad that something just changed his life, then all of a sudden they attacked. They forced Rokuro to give the plans but refused , because of the refusal they took Rokuro with them. After a lot of things happening.. when his company's president offered him home.. he discarded this once in a life time chance and now is the member of the infamous Black Lagoon gang with Dutch , Revy and Benny. They are a mercenary group in the island of Roanapur , where all the toughest , ruthless , merciless and skilled killers and mercenaries alike live , exiled from the rest of the world with their underground businesses and transactions with death itself.
Reflections

This manga is mostly violent and blood scenes all go about. If you despise that , you can go for another manga to your liking. I see a lot of the present problems in society this days whenever I read this. How companies betray their own countries , betray their own employees and even discarding them as mere tools for their own greed. That people will do anything for their own lusts and desire ... killing , betraying , creating weapons and more of the violent ones.
If you love insane killing ... u can go and watch this one and you'll be happy ^_^

Mahou Sensei Negima

Negima!: Magister Negi Magi, known in Japan as Magical Teacher Negima! (魔法先生ネギま!, Mahō Sensei Negima!) is a manga and anime series by Ken Akamatsu (known for his best selling title Love Hina) that contains a large amount of fan service/ecchi scenes. The manga is currently being published by Kodansha and serialized in Shonen Magazine in Japan. Del Rey Manga is publishing the English translated version. The anime, produced by XEBEC, aired in the first half of 2005 and is being released in the US by FUNimation Entertainment. Additionally, two OVAs have been released, produced by Shaft and GANSIS, who had produced an alternate retelling of the series, Negima!?.

Overview

Negi Springfield is a nine year old wizard (He starts out at 9 and is 10 years old as the story goes on) from Wales who dreams of becoming a Magister Magi (Approximate Latin translation: "Mage Master"), special wizards who use their powers to help normal people using covers such as working for NGOs.

Negi's reason for becoming a Magister Magi is to find his father, Nagi Springfield, the legendary mage also known as the "Thousand Master" who many believe to be dead. Though the name Thousand Master was cast into doubt in book 3 (Anime Episode 9) when Evangeline flashes back and he states he only mastered a few spells. Later, it is exposed that while his power or ability seem to be among the greatest in the magical world, he regularly uses an 'anchoko', or crib sheet, since he apparently does not bother to memorize the spells themselves.

After graduating from the Merdiana Magic Academy in Wales, he is given a duty as a cover in the real world, and training, before he actually becomes a Magister Magi. That duty is to become an English teacher at Mahora Academy in Japan. The task will not be easy, however, as Negi will become a teacher to a Middle School class of 31 older girls, each very special in her own way. The series details his time and adventures in Japan as he gains acceptance and respect from his students, helps them in their problems, and faces magical threats from inside and outside Mahora Academy.

His main relationship is with Asuna Kagurazaka, his student and roommate, who dislikes him initially but later accepts him as a friend and becomes his partner, helping find clues about his father and his life.

The series, while initially appearing to be another bishōjo work like Love Hina, has progressed into a mix of bishōjo, shōnen action, fantasy, horror, romance and comedy. Akamatsu stated that he specifically wanted to do something "different" than Love Hina. Negi himself is prepubescent, and many of his scenes with Asuna are specific subversions of the "awkward romantic scene" tendency of bishōjo manga, quickly diffused and only played for laughs. In addition, many of the girls are able to fawn over him in a childish sense without any romantic expectations from the reader.
In keeping with this style, Negi himself is seen as a contrast to Love Hina's Keitaro and other typical male leads of bishōjo manga. He is hardworking, capable, and treated kindly, but due to his appearance and age (well below most of his students), he feels completely non-threatening and finds it difficult to be taken seriously as a teacher; many of his students treat him as a cute little kid, if not a playmate.

Characters
The Class of 3A (formerly 2A)
Teacher: Negi Springfield, is the teacher of class 3A (formerly 2A) of Mahora Academy Middle School. (more information will be added.)Students: There are 31 pupils in his class, all girls, all attractive in their own way, each with their own distinctive personalities & some who aren't even human!
Student Number 1: Sayo Aisaka, the hapless and meek yurei (yurei: more facts about this subject) . More often frightened than frightening, Sayo haunts seat #1. She is invisible to virtually everyone and her presence goes unnoticed until Negi absentmindedly counts her during a class vote.
Student Number 2: Yuuna Akashi is an athletic girl who plays basketball and is a friend of Makie Sasaki, Ako Izumi and Akira Ookouchi who are also in sports clubs. She loves her father who happens to be a professor. (It is unclear if the professor works at the Mahora Academy.)
Student Number 3: Kazumi Asakura, the resident class reporter. She likes to get the inside scoop on everything that goes on. Always has a camera on hand. She is also one of the few girls in the class to know of Negi's secret, which she found out while investigating who proclaimed their love to Negi. She is currently staying silent about it, and is occasionally seen plotting with Chamo. Another note: Kazumi is 1 of the 5 girls in the class who have big breasts and has the fourth largest breasts in the class.
Student Number 4: Yue Ayase, the cool slacker. Despite being talented, she hates studying and keeps being in the bottom of the class grades. She is a member of the "Baka Rangers", the nickname for the five lowest scorers in Negi's class (she is the "Black Ranger"), and is a member of the Library Exploration Group, often hanging around with Haruna and Nodoka. She is a strong supporter of Nodoka, and encourages her to develop a relationship with Negi. She is also one of the few girls in the class to know of Negi's secret, which she found out all by herself by figuring it out the clues and strange incidents since Negi arrive & she was the one who call Kaede, Ku Fei and Mana for help when the Kansai Magic Association headquarters was attacked by the people who kidnapped Konoka at Kyoto. She is sometimes seen drinking tomato milk. Some passages in the Del Rey translation imply that she may also be Konoka's cousin.
Student Number 5: Ako Izumi, a shy athletic girl who likes to play soccer. She also works as a school nurse's assistant. Has a scar over the back of her waist and is a friend of Makie Sasaki, Akira Ookouchi and Yuuna Akashi who are also in sports clubs. She is also the coach of the boy's soccer club.
Student Number 6: Akira Ookouchi is a very athletic, shy swimmer in the swimming club and is a friend of Makie Sasaki, Ako Izumi & Yuuna Akashi who are also in sports clubs. She resembles Motoko Aoyama of Love Hina.
Student Number 7: Misa Kakizaki is one of the three cheerleaders in the class. She is a friend of Madoka and Sakurako and loves to go shopping every week, and hates carbonated drinks.
Student Number 8: Asuna Kagurazaka, the irascible dunce and leading female character, and bearing many similarities to Naru Narusegawa. Often in conflict with people. Asuna has a crush on her former English teacher, Mr. Takahata, whom Negi replaces. Asuna is in fact an orphan, who was allowed into the school for free by the school dean, yet Asuna still tries to pay for her schooling via a paper route. Much to her chagrin, she is a member of the "Baka Rangers", the nickname for the five lowest scorers in Negi's class. She is the "Red Ranger". She has Heterochromia iridis (Heterochromia iridis: image:iris_sectorial_iridis.jpgthumbright180pxan example of sectorial heterochromia iridis...[follow hyperlink for more...]) and her eyes are blue and green. This is considerably more noticeable in the anime, as while in the anime the two are quite different colors, the eye colors are fairly similar to each other in the manga version. (See Note on Color Changes) Asuna is the first to find out about Negi's secret when she saw him saving Nodoka from falling down the stairs. Negi and Asuna had a very shaky relationship from the start but later improved with Negi being a little brother to her and Asuna being a big sister/guardian to him; their relationship seems to, very occasionally, show hints at eventually developing into a less platonic one. Asuna is the first person that Negi made a probationary contract with. Her artifact was supposed to be a giant sword, but turned out to be a giant fan instead; she nevertheless wields it with gusto and effectiveness. The only time the sword was seen when Asuna was worried and tried to save Negi from the sharks in chapter 61, which means emotions play a role to her summoning the sword. She has immunity to most magic against her such as the effects of a love potion or a petrification spell. Asuna may have met the Thousand Master as a child before which may explain her strong magic immunity.
Student Number 9: Misora Kasuga is a tomboy in the track & field club. She sometimes wears a nun's uniform.
Student Number 10: Chachamaru Karakuri, a robot (created by Hakase and powered by Evangeline), though only a select few actually seem to have noticed (even though her metal robotic parts stick out very clearly, such as her rabbit-ear-like antennas and mechanical head screw!). To date, only Evangeline, Chamo, Chisame, and Satomi have been able to identify her without having it pointed out to them. She also stands out as being about the only friend Evangeline A. K. McDowell has in the class. In fact, the two are so close that Chachamaru takes care of Evangeline whenever she gets sick. This is not simple friendship, as she has been designed by Eva as a specific magic partner. Chachamaru behaves cold and emotionless most of the time (as she is an android), though she spends most of her free time, on her own will, taking care of people and animals (she is looking after a pack of stray cats). She is also in the Go (japanese chess) and Tea ceremony clubs, but only because Eva is in those clubs too.
Student Number 11: Madoka Kugimiya, is the serious one of the three cheerleaders in the class. She is their leader and the one making sure that the other cheerleaders (especially Sakurako) don't get into any trouble. She likes Gyuudon Noodles, Silver accessories and is a fan of Avril Lavigne (Avril Lavigne: more facts about this subject) but hates playboys, and is mildly obsessed with her husky voice.
Student Number 12: Ku Fei, the energetic and joyful kung-fu fighting Chinese girl. She is much like Love Hina's Kaolla Suu (though less childish). She's a member of the "Baka Rangers" where she is the "Yellow Ranger". She says that she can't concentrate much on her studies as she "takes most of her time" to study Japanese language. She hates being used as test subjects for Chao's and Satomi's inventions. She is also one of the few girls in the class to know of Negi's secret when she, Mana and Kaede helped Negi, Asuna and Setsuna rescued Konoka at Kyoto.
Student Number 13: Konoka Konoe, a gentle and caring girl who lives with Asuna and Negi. If anything, she's the mediator within Asuna's and Konoka's dorm room, being both Asuna's best friend and Negi's biggest supporter. She is also the school dean granddaughter. A fan of fortune telling, she has much magical potential, having come from a family of powerful mages. Her father is the chief of the Kansai Magic Association, who married her mother, the school dean daughter, in an arranged marriage in order to ease tension between the Kansai and Kantou (where Mahora Acedemy is located and the dean lives) Magic Associations. (This is because Kantou mages use western type magic from Europe, and this angered Kansai mages who use eastern type magic from East Asia, because they see Kantou mages forgetting traditions and being more western). She is the fourth person that Negi made a probationary contract with and has the ability to heal wounds. She has strong affection for Setsuna, and this often makes their friendship seem more akin to a romantic relationship (it sometimes seems that the friendship, indeed, has that potential).
Student Number 14: Haruna Saotome, the local rumor-monger and a frequent companion of Yue Ayase and Nodoka Miyazaki. If there's a rumor going around in the class, she's almost always at the root of it all. Also, as a member of the Library Exploration Club, she seems to have made it her mission to get Nodoka together with Negi - whether Nodoka wants her help or not.
Student Number 15: Setsuna Sakurazaki, a kendo expert trained in the Kyoto Shinmei (God's Cry) Style. Originally from Kyoto, she is a childhood friend of Konoka and often acts as her protector. At times, her devotion to Konoka and Konoka's open affection towards her is suggestive of a more romantic relationship (and the friendship, indeed, seems to have that potential). However, she rarely communicates with Konoka, as she believes that she should be her "protector from the shadows" so to speak. But the truth is she is has angel wings since she is half human, half bird, fearing that Konoka and everyone else would hate her. But Negi, Asuna and Konoka, who were the first to find out, still became her friends even after finding out who she was. The only people who know about her secret is Asuna, Konoka, Eva, Chachamaru and Negi who all agreed to keep it a secret. After the Kyoto incident, she has become more open, even being with Konoka. Occasionally goes on exorcisms with Mana Tatsumiya. She is the third person that Negi made a probationary contract with. Interesting note: the kendo style that Setsuna use is the same style used by Motoko Aoyama of Love Hina. This has led fans to believe their might be a possible cross over between the series since both are created by the same author, Ken Akamatsu.
Student Number 16: Makie Sasaki, the delicate and feminine rhythmic gymnast. She has a strong liking to Negi and is friends with Yuuna Akashi, Ako Izumi & Akira Ookouchi who are also in sports clubs. She's a member of the "Baka Rangers", the nickname for the five lowest scorers in Negi's class, standing out as the second lowest scorer (only Asuna does worse than her). She is the "Pink Ranger". In several readership polls, she has been consistently been voted the most popular girl in Class 3-A.
Student Number 17: Sakurako Shina, the most cheerful one of the three cheerleaders in the class. She also has high liking to Negi. Together with the Narutaki twins, the three look like hyperactive kids. She loves to karaoke and her pet cats, Cookie and Biscuit but she hates black stuff that appears in the kitchen especially what the cats bring in. She is also in the Lacrosse club.
Student Number 18: Mana Tatsumiya, the mercenary miko. She works part time at a shrine within the academy as a priestess & employs guns with spellbreaker bullets as her tool of exorcism. She is also one of the few girls in the class to know of Negi's secret, when she, Fei Ku, & Kaede help Negi, Asuna & Setsuna rescue Konoka at Kyoto. She is also in the Biathlon club. Another note: Mana is 1 of the 5 girls in the class who have big breasts & the 2nd largest breasts in class.
Student Number 19: Chao Lingshen, the top student of the entire year group. A Chinese girl, she is in a lot of clubs and is particularly into cooking. She is best friends with Satomi Hakase & both enjoy using Satomi’s inventions on Ku Fei.
Student Number 20: Kaede Nagase, the gentle and calm yet strong and tall girl. She resembles Mitsune Konno from Love Hina. In her free time, she goes ninja-training in the mountains, using real ninja weaponry and even having true "magical" ninja powers (such as the art of the doppelganger). She is a member of the "Baka Rangers", the nickname for the five lowest scorers in Negi's class. She is the "Blue Ranger". Kaede is one of the rare girls who know Negi's secret (though he doesn't know at first, as she noticed it secretly) & helped Negi, Asuna & Setsuna rescue Konoka at Kyoto with Mana & Ku Fei. Another note: Kaede is 1 of the 5 girls in the class who have big breasts & has the 3rd largest breasts in class.
Student Number 21: Chizuru Naba is a gentle and loving, yet strange, girl. She resemble Mutsumi Otohime from Love Hina & even acts like her. She is kind person to everyone, volunteers at the daycare in Mahora City & is in the Astronomy club. She is also roommates with Ayaka Yukihiro & Natsumi Murakami. Another note: Chizuru is 1 of the 5 girls in the class who have big breasts & has the largest breasts in the class.Student Number 22: Fuka Narutaki, the elder of the Narutaki twins. She's the class prankster, and always seems to be looking for some way to get into trouble. More often than not, she winds up getting Fumika to help her out as well. Together with her sister & Sakurako the 3 look like hyperactive kids.Student Number 23: Fumika Narutaki, the younger of the Narutaki twins. Truth be told, she's almost the complete opposite of Fuka. Her hobby is cleaning, and more often than not winds up going along with Fuka's pranks, trying to tell her sister that it's a bad idea the entire way. Together with her sister & Sakurako the 3 look like hyperactive kids.
Student Number 24: Satomi Hakase, the robotics expert. She is best friends with Chao Lingshen, and created Chachamaru with her help. She & Chao enjoy using her invetions on Ku Fei. She is also a member in the Robotics & Jet propulsion society of Mahora university.
Student Number 25: Chisame Hasegawa, the grumpy computer geek, with a double life. She is serious in public, however in private she dresses via cosplay fashion and takes glamorous and sexy pictures of herself that are posted to a website. In the manga, she is the most popular of the internet idols. She particularly dislikes Chachamaru Rakuso, Mana Tatsumiya, the Narutaki twins, Ku Fei, Lingshen Chao, Evangeline, Kaede Nagase, Zazie Rainyday and Negi, considering them to be crazy (as they are quite eccentric-looking). Actually, she is afraid of being crazy herself because of her hobby, but denies it herself. She does look like Love Hina’s Naru Narusegawa with her glasses on. The only person who knows about her double life is Negi. Unfortunely, not only did he found out about her secret, he even accidently embarrasses her to the entire class no thanks to his magic (he sneeze at her which blow all of her clothes off in chapter 12) & she vows one day to get her revenge for what he did.
Student Number 26: Evangeline Athanasia Katherine McDowell (a.k.a. Eva), the only Western/Caucasian girl in the class. A cold and devilish small girl, she is actually a criminal witch/vampire nicknamed the "Dark Evangel" and a thousand other names... or so she would have a person believe. She may looklike about 10 but she’s really over a hundred years old! She rarely ever says much in class, but what she does say tends to lean towards an attempt to seem as evil as possible. However, she DOES have a soft side, which she rarely shows. The only people who can truly say much about Evangeline would be Chachamaru & Chacha Zero. She enjoy playing Go (Go: A board game for two players who place counters on a grid; the object is to surround and so capture the opponent's counters) & is in the Go & Tea Ceremony club. As an interesting note, Mr. Takahata wrote "Ask her advice if you're in trouble" on Negi's class roster. (See Note on Evangeline in Translation Notes) Eva ostensibly hates Negi, although it is due to the fact that his father rejected (indirectly) her love & 15 years ago, he put a powerful curse that seal her magic powers & prevented her from leaving Mahora Academy as punishment for being evil. However she was able to leave the academy once when she & Chachamaru help Negi, Asuna & Setsuna rescue Konoka at Kyoto thanks to the dean who was able to find way to trick the powers that prevented Eva from leaving the academy. Another way for her to leave, is if the entire electricity power at Mahora Academy is shutdown since this power is powering the curse that’s been sealing her magic & preventing her to leave. The only way for her to end the curse is if somebody who is powerful like (Negi father) to lift the curse or she has to completely drink Negi blood (which contain very powerful magic which was passed down from his father) inorder to be free from the curse. Given that the identity of Negi's mother is unknown, and given Eva's past with Negi's father, there is a possibility (albeit a very, very remote one) that Eva might be Negi's mother. It is unlikely since Eva was curse 15 years ago & Negi was born 10 years ago.
Student Number 27: Nodoka Miyazaki, the shy book maniac. A member of the Library Exploration Group, and helps in the book store, she spends so much time in the library that people outside the Library Exploration Group refer to her as "Bookshelf girl", "Library Girl", "Book Store girl", etc. (the Del Rey translation often gives it as "Librarian-chan"). When Negi first arrived, she always had hair falling in front of her eyes, though her current hairstyle usually leaves enough of an opening in her hair that one (and only one) eye & later both eyes can be seen, created by wearing a short ponytail. After Negi catches her after she falls down some stairs, she develops a liking to Negi, which seems to be reciprocated & rather interesting since she dislikes boys .Interesting note, she is very much like Love Hina's Shinobu Maehara, by the same author, Ken Akamatsu. Nodoka is the second student Negi make a probationary contract with. Her magical artifact is a "Diary" that shows the thoughts of any person she speaks the name of, and has saved Negi and company on more than one occasion.
Student Number 28: Natsumi Murakami, is a sweet yet shy girl who is an actress in the theatrical club. She loves acting but one thing she hates is herself & how she looks because her body is not ‘mature’. This is made more worse since she is roomates with Ayaka & Chizuru who both have mature bodies & bigger breasts.
Student Number 29: Ayaka Yukihiro, the rich and snooty class representative. More often than not, she winds up being the only thing keeping the class in order, due to Negi's inexperience with handling large groups, which winds up with betting rings opening up whenever she's distracted, more often than not because she's fighting with Asuna (which in turn winds up being what the betting is on). She and Asuna seem to hate each other, with the two often getting into fights, but it eventually comes clear that they merely have a very weird friendship that neither is willing to admit to. She is madly in love with Negi, though she stands by the position that she's only interested in Negi because he "needs a mother figure". She tends to be aggressive in pretty much everything she does, which tends to wind up with her being misunderstood. However, she's very good at hiding her own past (such as her younger brother who died at childbirth, which may explain her fixation on Negi). She also roommates with Chizuru Naba & Natsumi Murakami & is in the equestrian & floral club. Another note: Ayaka is 1 of the 5 girls in the class who have big breasts & has the 5th largerst breasts in class.
Student Number 30: Satsuki Yotsuba is the only girl in class whose fat. She enjoys cooking and is in the cooking club. She also runs a nikuman business with Lingshen, and is the school dining officer. Despite her overweightness, she is still rather cute.
Student Number 31: Zazie Rainyday is very mysterious student. Nothing much is known about her, as she rarely talks. What is known is that she is in the school's magic club, thanks to Takamichi's notes. She has dark skin, and has two particular face paint marks: a large teardrop under her left eye, and a vertical line crossing the right side of her face. She is always seen with her pet bird.

Introduction and also the Story and Plot

Love Hina (ラブひな Rabu Hina) is a manga and anime series by author Ken Akamatsu. The manga won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen in 2001 and the "Best Manga, USA Release" at the 2002 Anime Expo. The manga consists of 14 volumes. The anime is 25 episodes long and is supplemented with Christmas and Spring movies and the Love Hina Again OVA. There are also two novels from Love Hina, both named Love Hina: the novel (both written by the series' anime screenwriters, volume 1 by Sho Aikawa (as Kurou Hazuki), volume 2 by Hiroyuki Kawasaki), which have been released in Japan and have been released in the US by Tokyopop, the US publisher of the manga.

The story is a comedy of the shōnen genre about a clumsy young man with an unparalleled amount of personal drive despite having horrible luck. After failing to get into Tokyo U (the college of his dreams), he visits his grandmother's onsen only to discover it has been turned into a girls' dorm. After his grandmother gives him the deed to the building, he has the tough job of being landlord, studying to get into Tokyo U, and dealing with the girls living there, who never pass up an opportunity to humiliate him.

The series falls under the harem comedy genre as well due to the familiar set up of one boy living with a group of sexy but unusual women. One distinguishing feature that sets this series apart from the average harem comedy is that, for a very large portion of the manga series, Keitaro is disliked by the girls. Whereas many of the same genre initially or very quickly place the main male character at the center of the girls' lusts, Keitaro is not only initially disliked by the girls, he suffers for a rather prolonged and extended period of time.

The series is most well known for putting humorously absurd elements into an ostensibly mundane universe, such as flying turtles, ghosts, and Su's destructive mecha.

Personal Insights and Reflections

The series taught me a lot of things. Just how loyal are we when it comes to love? Do we keep our promises to the end?And do we think about our future in times of turmoil? This manga has a lot to offer. Laughs , Romance , and the occasional panty shots . All packed into one cleverly planned manga by Ken Akamatsu. For me the manga is saying that we have to be careful in making our decisions in life , love or studies it may be. And how scarce are the opportunities that come in our lives. People take them for granted and slowly see the sun setting.....

Paradise Kiss

Paradise Kiss is another work by Ai Yazawa. It was released about the same time as Nana with only five volumes. The manga was showcased on the magazine Zipper and ran from April 2000 to March 2004. Para Kiss(for short) was also adapted into an anime by Aniplex and Studio Madhouse with twelve episodes and aired on October 13, 2005 through December 29 of that same year. Due to its success in Japan, the manga is being translated into nine different languages, from Spanish to Chinese and now English. Tokyopop has currently licenced it in N. America.

Story:

The plot is relatively simple with a complicated set of characters. Yukari is an ordinary high school student who's only hope is to satisfy her mother's wish(sounds familiar?) As she was walking down the street one sunny day, a tall "woman" stops her claiming her to be Caroline. After she knew what was going on it was too late. She was dragged into a tavern like place with people who are out of the ordinary. Pins and needles sticking out of someones face, a girl cute enough to be a doll, the tall mysterious "woman", and a man that calls himself "an equal opportunity lover." After hearing their story, she found out that they were students at a local fashion school and are in dire need of a model. It follows the story of Yukari who struggles to be the "perfect" daughter, through this quest she learns to walk on her own feet and finally becomes satisfied with her life.

Suggestion:
Its a good read, especially if you like shojo and slice of life kind of thing. The chapters are pretty short and its worth the time you spend on it. After all, the manga has a theme that can relate to most of us, that is.... the struggle we go through to find who we are and the pain and suffering that defines our future.

Nana

Nana is written by Ai Yazawa and is currently running in the magazine Cookie. Since its debut in 2000, the mangaka provided its readers wtih 18 volumes. A live movie adaptation was made in 2005 futuring the first couple volumes. The sequal came out in 2006 and had its international release on December 15 in New York City. Due to the manga's world wide success Madhouse Studios adapted it into an anime. In April 5, 2006 the first episode of Nana aired on Nihon TV with 47 episodes; and a second season in mind.

Story:

The main story focuses on two characters with the same name, Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu(Hachi). Nana Osaki is a punk singer who aspire to make a debut with her band Black Stones, while Hachi dreamt of a perfect life with her boyfriend. Both Nanas were on board a train heading for Tokyo when faith had Hachi fall unto the seat of Nana O. For that long trip, both discovered that they had similar names and age. After getting of f the train the two Nanas went their seperate ways only to meet again in room 707. They began living as roommates and formed an unbreakable bond with each other. Together they struggle through relationships and life. With Nana's band steadily rising to stardom, her friendship with Hachi becomes strained... and so goes the story

Weekly Shonen Jump (週刊少年ジャンプ, Shūkan Shōnen Janpu?), better known as Shonen Jump, with a circulation of over 3 million, is one of the longest-running weekly manga compilations in Japan. Its sister magazine is Monthly Jump.
The collected volumes or tankōbon of Weekly Jump titles in Japan are released under the Jump Comics imprint.

Weekly Jump targets young males ("Shōnen" is made of the kanji that mean 'few' and 'years', and is a Japanese word for 'boy'). It features manga with lots of action and adventure, often featuring young, male protagonists with special powers and/or abilities.
Weekly Jump was launched by Shueisha in 1968, to compete with the already-successful Shonen Magazine and Shonen Sunday. At its highest point in the mid 1990s, Weekly Jump had a regular circulation of over 6 million. In the last few years, its circuation is about 3 million. Weekly Jump manga titles have also been translated and redistributed in countries where the magazine itself isn't published, such as South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand.
There were a few games made based on the magazine and the series in it. There were two Famicom Jump games (Famicom Jump: Hero Retsuden and Famicom Jump II: The Strongest Seven) for its anniversary, on the Famicom, and lately Jump Superstars and Jump Ultimate Stars on the Nintendo DS
Also published in Japan is Akamaru Jump, special issues featuring one-shot manga released during Japanese holidays. A number of current and former Jump mangaka get their start in these issues, most notably Hideaki Sorachi (Gintama), Akira Amano (Reborn!) and Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto).

In 2002, Shueisha announced a partnership with Viz Communications (now Viz Media), a purveyor of anime and manga in the United States, to distribute a monthly version of Shonen Jump in that country and Canada. The Shonen Jump issues, like the Japanese issues, are read from right to left, because if printed the other way, pictures and words would be mirror-imaged. In its first issue (January 2003), it sold almost 300,000 copies beating their old rival Raijin Comics out of business, making it the top-selling Manga book of any kind in the U.S. for that time period. Shonen Jump also runs a line of graphic novels, including those that have run in the American Shonen Jump, but also other titles that ran in the Japanese Shonen Jump but not the American version. These manga are put in two manga lines Shonen Jump and Shonen Jump Advanced
In the magazine's text, the U.S. Shonen Jump uses circumflexes instead of macrons to mark long vowels. The manga in the magazine doesn't always reflect this (e.g., the preview for Whistle! used macrons). In 2005, Shonen Jump adopted a policy of editing dialogue and art of serialized manga to make it more suitable for younger audiences and still appeal to older audiences as well. This policy has still received criticism from long-time readers. Manga translated by Shonen Jump that are not present in the magazine have fewer edits and are released sooner. Even more recently Shonen Jump has started focusing more heavily on Naruto even so much as releasing 5 Chapters in one book.

Wide-eyed superheroes, latex-booted heroines and wild-haired supervillains might seem like unlikely international goodwill ambassadors, but Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes they will be just that. The politicos are gambling that manga and anime -- distinctive forms of comic books and movie animation, respectively -- and the diehard fans who dress up as their favorite characters in homemade costumes to attend conventions (the practice is called "cosplay") will spruce up Japan's image abroad. It's a risky bet.
Manga got its start in post-World War II Japan when cheap entertainment was in short supply. But it wasn't until the late 1980s that Japanese comics gained notice abroad. Now the U.S. market for anime is worth approximately $4.35 billion, according to the Japan External Trade Organization. Annual manga sales in North America have more than doubled since 2002, totaling $200 million in 2006 according to research firm ICv2.

The Japanese government wants to capitalize on this growing popularity. Japan's cultural diplomacy has generally focused on more traditional Japanese art forms, such as kabuki and noh theater and okiyo-e woodblock prints. These days it's doubling down on cartoons.
In June, it awarded the first International Manga Award. Recognition went to four non-Japanese cartoonists from Malaysia, Australia and Hong Kong for their help in advancing manga abroad. Grand prize: a government-sponsored 10-day visit to Japan. This autumn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will introduce an Anime Ambassador program to boost interest in anime films overseas. Tokyo anticipates spending at least 20 million yen ($175,000) a year on this new "manga diplomacy campaign."
But while Japan's use of manga and anime relies on their proven market appeal, the content and fan base of these trendy products make them ill-suited for Japan's public relations campaign.
Perhaps the biggest problem is the highly sexualized nature of the form, which can be exceptionally seedy, if not illegal. Earlier this year, 13 manga comics, including "Rape Me in My School Uniform" and "Pedophile's Banquet II," were labeled "harmful books" by the Kyoto Prefecture for featuring excessive sexual acts involving girls under the age of 13.
Anime and manga also tend to perpetuate negative images of daily life in Japan. Madeleine Rosca, one of the International Manga Award winners, notes that the cartoons did nothing to sell her on the country. "Japan comes across as a bit scary culturally—terribly formal and deeply strict," she explains. "Most of the stories we get tend to be stereotypes showing heavy workloads and strictness, and a super-adherence to tradition."
Nor are the cartoons immune from the politics that color Japan's international relations more generally, and especially with its neighbors. As Ming Wan, director of the global affairs program at George Mason University, cautions, there is a limit to how much Tokyo can push its cultural products before manga and anime are viewed as government propaganda. This is especially true in China, where some already see Japanese manga as a tool of indoctrination. An article published by the Chinese paper Global Times in June 2006 accused manga of trying to "retell history" to cover up Japan's war crimes and infect Chinese children with Japanese values.
And there's a certain weirdness factor. The nearest American counterpart to anime-inspired costume play may be Star Trek and Star Wars conventions, whose participants also dress up as their favorite characters. Those gatherings have entered the broader cultural consciousness more as a source of late-night television humor than as a viable goodwill export.
Despite these drawbacks, at Ani-Com Hong Kong, a comics fair held in late July, it seemed that Sailor Moon, Detective Konan and the other stars of Japanese cartoons have been making friends for Tokyo. Cosplay competitors at the convention said their attraction to manga and anime had developed their interest in Japan. Many had taken up study of the language, and others were saving up to visit manga's homeland.
If capturing the youth "vote" is the goal, Tokyo may be on to something. At the Hong Kong convention, a group of five 18 year-olds dressed as ninjas from the Japanese video game Tenchu posed for photographers. "Arigato!" they called to their fans, brandishing their fists and samurai swords. "We love Japan!" But will their parents?

Hayate the Combat Butler (ハヤテのごと! Hayate no Gotoku! is a Japanese manga series, written by manga author Kenjiro Hata, about a boy who starts a new job as a butler and the events he experiences with his employer. The manga is currently on its twelfth volume in Japan. The English edition of the series has been licensed by Viz Media for distribution in North America. The style of the manga has a comedic gag with a slight harem feel which constantly breaks the fourth wall. The series includes references to other anime, manga, video games, and popular culture. An anime adaptation of the manga started airing on April 1, 2007 on TV Tokyo.

Plots and Storyline

Hayate Ayasaki is renowned as the industry's fastest delivery boy, until his employer fires him after learning that he is underage on Christmas Eve. To his dismay, he learns that his irresponsible parents, whom he supported since the age of eight, received his monthly payment of 170,000 yen. Returning home, he finds that they lost all but twelve yen gambling away his salary and garnered a 156,804,000 yen debt to a yakuza, who they attempt to pay off by selling Hayate's organs as a Christmas gift.

Escaping from the yakuza, Hayate decides to kidnap a young girl named Nagi Sanzen'in for ransom money, but fails miserably by giving away his own name. In addition to that, his intended hostage mistakes his request for her to come with him to be a confession of love. Just as Hayate lies down and waits to freeze to death, a bike runs over him and he meets Maria, who is looking for Nagi. Hayate is smitten with her at first glance, though initially, he lies to Maria by saying that he didn't know anything about Nagi. Hayate's spirits lift when Maria gives Hayate her scarf, and shocked by her kindness, he goes on to save Nagi when she is kidnapped by a pair of brothers who owed money to the same yakuza. After saving Nagi, she says that she is in Hayate's debt, and Hayate asks her to repay the debt by finding him a new job before collapsing from his injuries. Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei (さよなら絶望先生 lit. Goodbye, Despair Teacher) is a Japanese manga by Kōji Kumeta, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. It is a comedy about a teacher who takes all aspects of life, language and culture in the most negative light possible. In 2007, the manga received the thirty-first Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category, and was adapted into an anime.

Story and Plot

Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei revolves around a very pessimistic high school teacher named Nozomu Itoshiki who tries to hang himself on a cherry blossom tree. Despite his best efforts, he is saved by a very optimistic girl known as Kafuka Fūra (whose real name is unknown). She explains to him that it is simply unforgivable to hang himself on such a nice day, especially in front of such beautiful trees. She decides to nickname Nozomu "Pink Supervisor" (桃色係長, Momoiro Kakarichō), offering to pay him fifty yen to do so. After having enough of the strange girl, Nozomu bolts to the school and starts his homeroom class, but the attempt to escape was in vain as he finds that the girl is one of his students.

Not only does he have this students to manage but also their problems. Each one of his students have a particular special problem. A special note: most characters' names derive from similarly pronounced Japanese terms which their traits refer to. He even complained this to a fellow teacher after experiencing them.

Air Gear is about the lives of Itsuki "Ikki" Minami and his friends along with the latest trend, Air Trecks. The early parts of the story carry out the introduction of characters that eventually join Ikki, and as the story progresses, it focuses on their roles as Storm Riders and their quest to be on the top of the Trophaeum Tower. It won the 2006 Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category.

Story and Plots.................

Itsuki "Ikki" Minami, is a student and a delinquent. Also known as the "Unbeatable Babyface", Ikki is the leader of the youth gang by the name of "East Side Gunz". Upon his return home after being humiliated by a street gang of Storm Riders called the Skull Saders, Ikki discovers a secret hidden from him by his benefactors, the Noyamano sisters. The sisters belong to a group of Storm Riders who go by the team name of Sleeping Forest. In the anime, learning the sisters' secret angers him and he steals a pair of Air Trecks, abbreviated as "AT". (In the manga, the sisters give a pair of ATs to him and invite him to skate with them.) Ikki eventually settles his grudge with the Skull Saders, but in the process he receives more than the simple satisfaction of revenge. Determined to experience the sensation of "flight" for as long as he can, Ikki is quickly sucked into the mysterious, irresistible world of Air Trecks.

After the winning against the Skull Saders , Ikki and his gang discover more about Air Treck especially making teams to battle it out in the Parts War where Storm Riders fight.Their team made a major impact on the Air Treck And this was Kogarasumaru (小烏丸) It was formed by Minami Itsuki and his friends to further their favourite hobby of Air Treck. Their team ranking in the world of AT increased at a very rapid pace, giving Kogarasumaru worldwide fame. Eventually, the elite team known as Genesis is placed under the command of Kogarasumaru. The origin of the name of this team is a famous Japanese sword. Currently, Kogarasumaru has three Kings. They are currently ranked B-Class.

Eyeshield 21 (アイシールド21 Aishīrudo nijūichi) is a manga about American football written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. It has been adapted into an anime movie in 2004 (shown at Jump Festa), an anime television series in 2005, several video games and a trading card game from Konami.

The manga is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The twenty five volumes have collectively sold over 16 million copies in Japan, and the number of children playing American football has almost doubled in the four years since it began. The manga is published in English by VIZ Media.

STORY AND PLOTS.......
The plot of Eyeshield 21 revolvesaround a physically unassuming and non-assertive boy named Sena Kobayakawa (小早川瀬那 Kobayakawa Sena) who enters the high school of his choice, Deimon Private Senior High School (泥門高等学校 Deimon Kōtōgakkō), where his childhood friend Mamori Anezaki (姉崎まもり Anezaki Mamori), one year older than Sena, already attends.

His only remarkable physical abilities are his running speed and dodging techniques, which catch the eye of the high school's American football team captain Yoichi Hiruma (蛭魔妖一, Hiruma Yōichi) who then forces Sena to join the team (Deimon Devil Bats) as the running back.

To protect his identity (on the premise that other school sports teams will try to recruit Sena upon discovering his athletic skill) Sena is forced to publicly assume the role of team secretary, and enter the field wearing a helmet equipped with a green-tinted eyeshield in order to hide his features under the pseudonym of "Eyeshield 21." The makeshift team initially takes part in the Spring football tournament (at the beginning of the Japanese school year) hoping to win with through the strength of their new "secret weapon." But the extremely weak team is eliminated early on by the Ojo White Knights, a powerhouse football team. Others see the skill of the current White Knights as having declined from the previous "Golden Generation" but the team members are trying to prove that they have the ability to surpass their predecessors. It is in this game that Sena meets the man he will acknowledge as his ultimate rival, Seijuro Shin, a talented linebacker.

After Deimon's defeat, the Spring tournament is revealed as a secondary in importance to the Fall tournament, where the teams compete for the chance to play in the "Christmas Bowl," the high school football league championship. Hiruma, Kurita and Sena regroup and slowly build a real team from other misfits and students looking to define themselves, with the goal of reaching the championship. The series follows the building and growth of the Deimon Devil Bats and its members, as well as various rival teams encountered through their games and tournaments, as they all strive to achieve their goal of playing in the Christmas Bowl.

Here in the Fall Tournament is where the greatest challenges lie. Not only in the games but the test of their bonds with each other.Before the tournament the group takes part in a harsh and deadly training , where they might harm themselves to the extent of even loosing the chance to play American football FOREVER. The One Piece manga, written, drawn, and created by Eiichiro Oda, is originally published by Shueisha in Japanese for sale in Japan. The first artbook, Color Walk 1 has also been released in English. The second book has yet to be released in North America.

The manga began its serial run in issue #34 of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on August 4, 1997, while the anime adaptation produced by Toei Animation premiered on Fuji TV on October 20, 1999.

Eiichiro Oda originally planned One Piece to last five years, and he had already planned out the ending, but he found himself enjoying the story too much to end it in that amount of time, and now has no idea how long it will take to reach that point. Nevertheless, the author states (as of July 2007) that the ending is still the one he had decided on from the beginning, and he is committed to seeing it through to the end, no matter how many years it takes.

One Piece is the third highest selling manga in the history of Weekly Shonen Jump, (being beaten by Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Ko-en-mae Hashutsujo (Kochi Kame) and Dragon Ball) and is currently their most acclaimed and all-time third-best-selling title in Japan. The manga is so well-liked that it is the first to increase the sales of Weekly Shonen Jump in eleven years. Volume 25 of One Piece holds a manga sales record in Japan, with 2,630,000 units sold in its first printing alone; as of Volume 46, the series has sold over 140,000,000 copies domestically, and is the fastest manga to reach sales of 100,000,000.

Bleach (????, Buri-chi?, romanized as BLEACH in Japan) is an ongoing manga series authored by Tite Kubo that has appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since August 2001.
Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student with the ability to see ghosts, and Rukia Kuchiki, a shinigami (Soul Reaper or, literally, "death god"). The early parts of the story focus mainly on the characters and their pasts. As events unfold, the story begins to delve deeper into the world of these gods of death.

The story opens with the sudden appearance of the shinigami Rukia in Ichigo's bedroom. She is surprised at his ability to see her, but their resulting conversation is interrupted by the appearance of a hollow, an evil spirit. After Rukia is severely wounded while trying to protect Ichigo, she intends to transfer half her powers to Ichigo, hoping to give him the opportunity to face the hollow on equal footing. Ichigo unintentionally absorbs all her powers instead, allowing him to defeat the hollow with ease.

The next day, Rukia appears in Ichigo's classroom as a transfer student. Much to his surprise, she appears to be a normal human. She theorizes that it was the unusual strength of Ichigo's spirit that caused him to fully absorb her powers, thus leaving her stranded in the human world. Rukia has transferred herself into a gigai — an artificial human body — while waiting to recover her abilities. In the meantime, Ichigo must take over her job as a shinigami, battling hollows and guiding lost souls to the afterlife.

The planes of existence in the Bleach universe broadly correspond to the life and afterlife of human belief systems. The living humans of Bleach reside in a world resembling present-day Japan; buried souls live in a kind of Heaven called Soul Society; evil souls are sent to Hell. Once in Soul Society, a spirit is able to live longer than humans in the living world, with many aging into the thousands of years. Once a spirit dies in Soul Society, its soul is sent back to the living world and reborn as a new human. This provides the two worlds with balance.

History

Rukia and her older sister, Hisana, were brought together to 78th District of Rukongai after they died in the human world. Hisana abandoned Rukia when she was still a baby since she could not continue to support both herself and Rukia. Rukia grew up on her own until she met Renji Abarai and other children her age. They worked together to steal food in order to survive and became a makeshift family. During this time, Rukia and Renji showed signs of having spiritual power. While they initially opted against becoming shinigami, the death of all their friends prompted Rukia to suggest joining the academy for a better life.

At the shinigami academy, Renji was admitted into the top class and Rukia into the second ranked one. Renji and Rukia started growing further apart as Renji got further ahead in his training. The emotional distance continued until Rukia was asked to join the Kuchiki family. Renji expressed happiness for Rukia's opportunity but both did not admit that they disagreed with the arrangement since they would likely never see each other again. Rukia reluctantly joined the family and was immediately inducted into the 13th Division without having to graduate or take a squad entrance exam. Unknown to Rukia, Byakuya had adopted her in order to fulfill the last wish of Hisana, whom he had taken as his wife.

In the 13th Division, Rukia was not given a seat position, due to Byakuya Kuchiki's influence, since he did not want her sent on dangerous missions. She became friends with the division lieutenant, Kaien Shiba, who trained and mentored her. Their first training location was Mount Koifushi of Hokutan, the 3rd district of West Rukongai.

Rukia greatly admired Kaien's wife, 3rd Seat Miyako Shiba. When Miyako was killed by a hollow, Rukia, Kaien, and the division's captain, Ju-shiro- Ukitake hunted the hollow down. Kaien faced the hollow alone but the hollow's special ability destroyed his zanpakuto-. Rukia attempted to draw her sword and help but was stopped by Ukitake. He told her that Kaien's fight was one of honor rather than a fight for his life. If Rukia helped, Kaien would be saved but his honor would be damaged forever. Meanwhile, the hollow entered Kaien and possessed him. Ukitake faced the hollow but his illness allowed the hollow the opportunity to attack Rukia. Kaien momentarily regained control and thrust himself through Rukia's zanpakuto-. He thanked Rukia and Ukitake for letting him fight for his honor and died in Rukia's arms. Rukia brought the corpse to the Shiba family but was afraid to apologize since she felt guilty about her role in Kaien's death.

While patrolling Karakura Town, Rukia enters Ichigo's room to do a soul burial on a spirit that had been following him. Rukia is caught by surprise when Ichigo kicks her, not expecting a mere human to be able to see a shinigami, let alone kick one. A hollow attacks Ichigo's house and Rukia is injured defending Ichigo from the hollow. Unable to fight, she tries to transfer some of her powers to him, only for Ichigo to sap nearly every ounce of her power instead. Thus endowed with shinigami abilities, Ichigo easily dispatches the hollow and Rukia leaves.
As a result of Ichigo's draining of her powers, Rukia is unable to return to Soul Society and is forced to live in a gigai given to her by Kisuke Urahara, which is intended to restore her powers over time. During this time, she convinces Ichigo to assume her duties and enrolls in Ichigo's high school. Unfortunately, Ichigo's new duties set off a flurry of activity both in the human and soul worlds. An increased amount of hollows (and at one point, even a Menos Grande) come to the human world and are dispatched in one form or another by Ichigo, Rukia, and eventually a group of friends whose own powers awaken after prolonged exposure to Ichigo's increased abilities.

As Rukia remains longer in the human world, she begins to grow comfortable with the life she is living there. Fearing she is growing too attached to the human world, she runs away from Ichigo's house. Two shinigami from Soul Society, her childhood friend Renji and older brother Byakuya, come to arrest her and nearly kill Ichigo in the process. Fearing for Ichigo's safety, she willingly returns to Soul Society as a prisoner, begging Ichigo to forget about her and warning him not to attempt a rescue.

Rukia is imprisoned in a holding cell in the 6th Division and is

sentenced to death. While Ichigo and his friends make their way into Soul Society, she meets Hanataro- Yamada, who is assigned to clean her cell, and tells him about Ichigo and the human world. The circumstances of her sentence begin to look suspicious when the date is moved up not once, but twice, leaving the total grace period at twenty-five days instead of the normal thirty-five. Additionally, the So-kyoku, a massive weapon capable of instantly killing the strongest of shinigami and mainly used on those at captain level, is determined as the mode of execution. Days later, she is moved to the Shrine of Penitence which overlooks the So-kyoku. Renji oversees the transfer and informs her that one of the intruders that has infiltrated Soul Society is Ichigo.

During her time in the Shrine of Penitence, Rukia sees the intruders enter the Seireitei through the sky, is informed of Renji being defeated, and feels the moment when Ichigo and Kenpachi are both incapacitated. Three days before her execution, Ganju Shiba and Hanataro- Yamada manage to disable the guards of the Shrine of Penitence and break in. Upon seeing Rukia, Ganju realizes he is working to free the shinigami that killed his brother, and threatens to kill her. They are interrupted by Byakuya and, after some convincing from Hanataro-, Ganju decides to face Byakuya to protect Rukia. He is nearly killed, but an interruption by Ichigo saves him. A subsequent interruption by Ju-shiro- Ukitake and Yoruichi Shihouin saves everyone else, but Rukia is forced back into the shrine.

Three days later, Rukia is taken out of the Shrine of Penitence to be executed. Along the way, she senses Renji being defeated again and is confronted by Gin Ichimaru. He offers to save her, Renji, and the intruders, but once Rukia begins to regain hope, he admits he is lying. She is brought to the So-kyoku and as her last wish, asks for the intruders to be brought back to the living world unharmed. The So-kyoku is released and is about to kill her before Ichigo blocks it with his zanpakuto-. Ukitake and Kyo-raku arrive and destroy the So-kyoku while Ichigo destroys the execution grounds. Renji arrives and Ichigo turns Rukia over to him while dealing with the remaining lieutenants and Byakuya.

Renji carries Rukia away but is stopped by Kaname To-sen, who teleports them back to So-kyoku hill. Aizen, To-sen, and Ichimaru reveal themselves as traitors and Aizen asks Renji to turn Rukia over. Renji refuses, but is easily defeated before Ichigo shows up. Ichigo is also defeated and Aizen reveals that he arranged Rukia's execution in order to retrieve the Orb of Distortion, a device that has the power to break down the barrier between the shinigami and the hollows, from Rukia's soul. The Orb was placed in Rukia when she inhabited the gigai given to her by Urahara. Urahara had created the gigai to be untraceable, allowing the user to go unnoticed, and drain spiritual power rather than restore it. Had things gone as planned, Rukia would have simply become human, making the Orb impossible to retrieve. Aizen had planned to retrieve the Orb after Rukia's execution, but Ichigo's interference forced him to use a less harmful method devised by Urahara, which keeps Rukia alive after removing the Orb. Despite being able to remove the Orb without harming Rukia, Aizen orders Ichimaru to kill Rukia anyway. She is saved by Byakuya, who pushes her out of the path of Ichimaru's attack. The remaining captains, humans, and lieutenants arrive as backup, but Aizen, To-sen, and Ichimaru are saved by hollows, who draw them into Hueco Mundo.

While Byakuya is being healed, he tells Rukia the truth about Rukia's sister and explains his insistence to kill her was due to a vow he made to his parents to never break the law again. As Ishida, Chad, Ichigo, and Orihime prepare to depart for the human world, Rukia decides to finally ask for forgiveness from the Shiba family. She also decides to remain in Soul Society.

In the anime, Rukia returns to the real world just as the Bounts begin surfacing. She is not informed of this fact, instead sent under orders to fight hollows. Thus, she is surprised when she arrives in the real world during the middle of a fight between Ichigo Kurosaki and Yoshino So-ma.

Once the battle is over, Rukia is brought up to speed and meets Urahara's three Bount-tracking modsouls. Ririn is jealous of Rukia's familiarity with Ichigo, while Rukia instantly takes a liking to Kuroud, who resembles Chappy the Rabbit in his plushie form. This makes Kon break down and start crying, as he believes that no one, meaning Rukia, likes him anymore. Rukia then spends most of her time in the real world with Ichigo and his group and starts to attend Ichigo's high school like she did at the beginning of the story, using an improved memory-altering device to convince them she was already attending school.

During a battle with the Bount Mabashi, she is possessed by his doll Ritz. Ritz is able to force Rukia to assume her shinigami form and even rematerializes her zanpakuto-, but doesn't use its released form. Orihime Inoue is able to undo the possession by using her so-ten kisshun to reject the possession of the doll.

Later, she accompanies Ichigo and the others to the Bount cave and finally returns to Soul Society with the others when the Bounts attack Soul Society. While heading back to her squad, she is attacked by Yoshi. She manages to evade Yoshi for a while with Ririn's help, but is injured and forced to submit when Yoshi takes a small child hostage. Yoshi slashes Rukia several times and stabs one of her legs, but Byakuya arrives in time to keep Yoshi from killing Rukia.
While recuperating in bed, Rukia overhears several servants mention Ichigo fighting with Jin Kariya at So-kyoku hill, and attempts to go to him. She encounters Renji as she is departing and, realizing her still weakened condition, asks him to take her to So-kyoku hill. She initially wants to help, but is convinced by Renji that it's Ichigo's fight. While watching the fight, she convinces Orihime to let Ichigo fight alone, since both Jin and Ichigo have similar backgrounds.

Rukia reappears after Ichigo's dismal defeat by the two arrancar, arriving with To-shiro- Hitsugaya's reinforcement team of shinigami. After greeting Ichigo by hitting him repeatedly, she shakes him out of his depression and renews his resolve to protect his friends. Afterwards, she makes her way to the Kurosaki household where the rest of the shinigami explain the current situation with Aizen. When Grimmjow Jeagerjaques brings a group of arrancar to the real world, Rukia easily overcomes D-Roy, a lesser arrancar, by using the shikai of her zanpakuto-. However, she is disabled by Grimmjow soon after, and a subsequent lopsided fight between him and Ichigo leaves Ichigo questioning his resolve again. He leaves without informing her of his whereabouts.

Rukia talks to Orihime when the latter feels she is a burden due to hard words from Urahara. After Orihime sorts out some business with the vizard, Rukia takes her to Soul Society so they can train together and become stronger. After another attack from the arrancar in the real world, she returns ahead of Orihime and saves Ichigo from attack by Grimmjow. Just as she is about to be killed by Grimmjow, Shinji Hirako interferes. Rukia remains curious about Ichigo's interactions with these "new people", but is too distracted by her communication with Soul Society to do anything more.

Later on, she appears in Orihime's apartment to hear about her capture. As Ichigo vows to save Orihime, Rukia is denied that option and is taken back with the rest of the shinigami to Soul Society by Byakuya and Kenpachi.

Not long after Ichigo, Ishida, and Chad arrive in Hueco Mundo, Rukia and Renji manage to join
them, conveniently arriving in time to deal with a sand-based hollow the group had been unable to harm. As usual, she greets Ichigo by hitting him and tells him that he should have waited for her, reminding him that they are companions and part of a team. She also reveals that she and Renji received permission from her brother Byakuya (but not from General Yamamoto) to join Ichigo's mission to save Orihime from Aizen and the Espada. The group proceeds to Aizen's headquarters and, encountering a room with five exits, split up after vowing that they shall meet again alive.

After sensing Chad's defeat, Rukia makes her way across a bridge in Las Noches. After seeing daylight rather than constant darkness, she encounters Aaroniero Arleri.[5] After escorting her into a darkened room, he reveals the face of Kaien Shiba.With Kaien's face and memories, Aaroniero briefly convinces Rukia that he is who he appears to be, but his erratic behavior and casual demand that she atone for killing him by killing her friends drives Rukia to attack the Espada.

During their battle, Aaroniero displays Kaien's Nejibana, as well as his fighting style, and overwhelms Rukia. Upon remembering his earlier aversion to sunlight, she uses kido- to restrain him and blast open the wall, revealing his true form.However, when she learns that Kaien's spirit is a part of Aaroniero, she temporarily loses the will to fight and is brutally impaled by Kaien's Nejibana, which also breaks through her zanpakuto-. She then remembers Kaien's lessons upon one's heart being passed down to ones that they care about, and realizes that Aaroniero is not Kaien, even if he possesses Kaien's spirit.She recovers and uses her zanpakuto-'s third dance to impale Aaroniero through his jar-like head, piercing his top face and killing the Espada.

As Aaroniero's remaining face dies, she attempts to rally her strength and continue on to help Orihime, remembering how Kaien had told her never to die alone, and now understanding the parallels between her own situation during the Soul Society arc and Orihime's now. However, she collapses and her spiritual pressure fades away.

One Manga's Big Three Part I : Naruto

Naruto (NARUTO - ナルト -, Naruto) is a manga series written and illustrated by manga artist Masashi Kishimoto with an anime adaptation. The main character, Naruto Uzumaki, is a loud, hyperactive, unpredictable adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition, as well as to become Hokage, acknowledged as the leader and strongest of all ninja in the village.

Twelve years before the events at the focus of the series, the nine-tailed demon fox attacked Konohagakure. Powerful enough to raise tsunamis and flatten mountains with a swish of one of its tails, it raised chaos and slaughtered many people, until the leader of the Leaf Village – the Fourth Hokage – sacrificed his own life to seal the demon inside his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki. The Fourth Hokage, who was celebrated as a hero for sealing the demon fox away, wanted Naruto to be respected in a similar light by being the containment vessel for the demon fox.

The main story follows Naruto and his friends' personal growth and development as ninja, and emphasizes their interactions with each other and the influence of their backgrounds on their personalities. Naruto finds two friends and comrades in Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, two fellow young ninja who are assigned with him to form a three-person team under an experienced sensei named Kakashi Hatake. Naruto also confides in other characters that he meets throughout the series as well. Sensei-student relationships play a significant role in the series; Naruto has a number of mentors with whom he trains and learns, most notably Iruka Umino, the first ninja to recognize Naruto's existence, Kakashi Hatake, his team leader, and Jiraiya, and there are often running threads of tradition and tutelage binding together several generations. These role models provide guidance for their students not only in the ninja arts but also in a number of Japanese aesthetics and philosophical ideals. Techniques, ideals, and mentalities noticeably run in families, Naruto often being exposed to the abilities and traditions of generation-old clans in his village when friends from his own age group demonstrate them, or even achieve improvements
of their own; it is poignantly noted that Naruto's
generation is particularly talented.
